Shopping in KL

this is one aspect that we consider when selecting a stroller

mom is a fussy pot

she insisted we do this

he thinks he looks cute so he was excited over this to-chang

at this age,

he says cater peter instead of caterpillar.

2 months pregnant

with a subchorionic hematoma.

could possibly be a twin.

layman : i had 2 sacs in my uterus and one of the sac collapse.

everything went well. the other sac survived.

the first trimester was AWFUL!

puked a total of...say 10 times in total.

first pregnancy, only ONCE. n that was because i had too much petai :p

well ive always encouraged him to be independent.

i thought when kids reach a certain age, they would begged for independence?

they would want to do things on their own, we cant help them?

not for him.

he always says he cant do it.

he doesnt know how to do it.

i cannot mummy. i cannot.

until now, he cannot wear shirts on his own.
he can put on his own pants, but they will be crooked.
given a chance, he will allow us to wear pants for him.
spoilt by aunty definitely.
he knows it so he bullies her.

too adorable.

till now,

he loves his bro so much that he will kiss him goodnight, every night.

and he says that di-di likes him.

yes of course, you are the ge-ge mah, i must echo.

if i dont, he will ask me to say it. say the entire sentence ;)

Note: i think he is not suppose to sit on the mat - montessori style.

montessori says children should be sitting outside the mat. not in.

but i actually thought him to sit INside.

so that he knows his play space.

at this age, he knows where to get the mat and he always chooses this orange round mat.

he refuses to roll the mat.

he will ask me to do it -_____-

and i did.

hardwork pays off i tell you :)

he began rolling the mat and bring to the basket (mat's home) few months back. woohoo!

 i kept quiet and watch him play.

he ignored me.

he is not into sorting despite my hint.

gah.

Bubble play

all kids love bubbles don't they?

 we have a warm neighbourhood here and the road here leads to a dead end, so presto!
very few cars will pass by as we are at the end.

the 'lau da' (big bro) demonstrating.

i like this look.

the look of concentration, seriousness.

there are many DIY recipes available online for this soap bubbles.

homemade bubble solutions

can even be creative and come up with the 'wand' as shown here,

or here or this blog using pipe cleaners.

pipe cleaners are available in Daiso or tailor shop which sells buttons and threads and etc.

happy face. happy kid.

= happy mom.

kids learn through play!

hence i will always release him from home once the sun reaches the horizon.

he has to GET OUT of the house.

and sometimes he'll go back in to someone else's house. sigh.

i will still try to pull him out though.

i dont blame him.

sometimes it will only be him alone outside and im not exactly a nutty cracky play person so he feels bored.

family first

wearing his father's glasses.

yes so he learns an extra vocab : glasses / spectacles.

he would kindly help to fetch his dad's glasses in the morning.

VERY cheeky

back in ipoh attending his Uncle's wedding.

being the youngest in the family,

he gets to be the KING!

upsets his popo by rejecting her and being nasty to her.

family comes first.

yes, im a family person.

im glad that hubs has a huge extended family and they are close to one another.

we flew home many times last year for joyous celebrations and those are the times that KJ gets to bond with the family.

worth it :)

no swimming lesson

two types of floats,

bought by ah gu, Uncle in hokkien, means my brother

 somehow we manage to reunite here in KK, which is really rare.

 afraid of the water yet excited to go in to the pool

 his ah gu has the passion to play with kids,

so all kids love him.

tell me which kid does not!

 children's pool

ive made up my mind,

of not sending him to toddler swimming class.

what we should do is to bring him the pool as often as we can.

with no pressure (to be able to swim on his own).

there bound to be some especially when we go to the beach or when we wants to dive or snorkel.

when he is ready, we will know.

teaching toddler shapes

crackers from Philippines. we did not go to Philippines, we bought these from a shop selling their products in KK.


playing with Winnie the Pooh


comes with small miniatures and a few pages of story lines. got this from Popular Bookstore.

uh, he only played with it a couple of times. i should bring this out again. well it is actually out all the time ,guess he is not that interested.

this is a good game.
he knows the basic shapes from here.


matching game


the pegged shapes are borrowed from his wooden jigsaw puzzle.

there is another game that we play. i will place a set of cards on the table in the living room (anywhere else appropriate) and we will sit in inside our bedroom with another similar set of cards. i will call out one shape and he will need to run out and fetch me a card with the matching shape.
start off with a shorter distance and slowly increase as the child gets better.
he loves this.

there are many variations to this simple game, but im just not that creative.


he must be wondering...how to match that...


thrilled and proud of his achievement! clapping to celebrate.

reinforce, reinforce. he will remember them and will master them when time comes.
